You can contact me about privacy or data protection through the contact form.
What information I collect
I may collect your name, email address, organisation or business details, information you provide in an enquiry, correspondence, and information relating to work I undertake for you.
If you become a client, I may also keep information needed for invoicing, payments and business records.
My website does not currently use analytics or advertising technologies, and does not set cookies or store information in your browser using local or session storage. My hosting provider may process limited technical information, such as IP addresses and server request logs, where necessary to operate and secure the website.
How I use your information
I use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and discuss potential work;
- provide and manage consultancy services;
- manage client relationships;
- maintain appropriate business and financial records;
- improve my services;
- comply with legal, tax and accounting requirements; and
- deal with queries, complaints or disputes.
My lawful bases are:
Contract— where I need information to enter into or perform a contract with you as an individual, or take steps you have asked me to take before entering into one.
Legitimate interests— where necessary to run my business, manage professional relationships, keep appropriate records, improve my services and respond to enquiries or disputes. I only rely on this basis where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
Legal obligation— where I need to process or retain information to comply with the law.
Where information comes from
Most personal information comes directly from you.
I may also receive business contact information through referrals or obtain it from publicly available professional or business sources where relevant.
Who I share information with
I use third-party service providers where necessary to run my website and business. These may include:
- website hosting and cloud infrastructure providers;
- contact-form and transactional email delivery providers;
- business email and cloud productivity providers;
- professional advisers, such as legal or accounting advisers, where relevant; and
- other service providers needed to support the delivery and administration of my work.
I may also share information where required by law.
I do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Some of these service providers may process personal information outside the UK, including in the United States.
Where this happens, transfers are protected using recognised safeguards under UK data protection law, including adequacy arrangements and approved contractual safeguards where applicable.
You can contact me if you would like more information about the safeguards used.
How long I keep information
I keep personal information only for as long as I reasonably need it.
Enquiries that do not lead to client work are normally deleted after 12 months.
Information relating to client work may be retained for up to six years after the engagement ends where necessary for business records, accounting, legal matters or dispute resolution.
Financial and accounting records are retained for the periods required by law.
I periodically review the information I hold and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.

Where I rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to my use of your personal information.
You can exercise your rights by contacting me through the contact form on this site. I will normally respond within one month.
